Community Garage Sale

Clean out your basement and garage and make your unwanted junk someone else’s treasure by participating in our communities annual garage sale June 16th to 17th.

Our neighbours on Connaught will also be hosting a garage sale. What better time to share traffic!

The garage sale starts at 9 am.

We hope to everyone participates to help make this years garage sale the biggest one yet.

2017 Garage sale

We invite you to participate in our neighbourhood garage sale which will be held on Saturday, June 10th, starting at 8 am. Each participant will be responsible to set up his own sale in front of his house.  The more we will be, the more customers we'll get!

Christmas sharing store 2016

Dear neighbors!

The Aylmer Food Centre will hold the 11th edition of its Christmas Sharing Store, a mutual aid project. It is an alternative to the traditional Christmas basket and gives a helping hand to 160 Aylmer families and residents so they can do their holiday groceries, in dignity, at a lower cost and based on their needs.

Since December 2013, families from our neighborhood have generously donated products and non-perishable food items. Again this year, we are soliciting your help to ensure the success of the event. The Centre is seeking donations of the following products:

Non perishable items:

  • Peanut butter (500g)
  • Breakfast cereals / oatmeal
  • Crackers (450g)
  • Cookies (300g)
  • Canned fish / meat (99g)
  • Snack for children (without nuts)
  • Canned fruits (796 ml)
  • Canned vegetables (540 ml)
  • Canned soups (212 ml)
  • Fruit juice (1 litre)
  • Pasta (900g)
  • Pasta sauce (500 ml)
  • Rice (900g)
  • Canola oil (946 ml)
  • Ketchup (1 litre)
  • Mustard (400 ml)
  • Sugar (1kg)
  • Instant coffee (200g)

Other :

  • Dishwashing liquid (266ml)
  • Laundry detergent (1.63 litres)
  • Aluminium foil (100 feet)

Baby products:

  • Diapers # 3, 4, 5
  • Pull-ups
  • Baby cereals

Come have a coffee (courtesy of the new Starbucks - corner of Vanier and boul. des Allumettières) and drop off your donations at 20 Felix-Leclerc (from 10 a.m. to 12 noon) on Sunday December 11. These will be delivered to the Aylmer Food Centre in time for the Christmas Sharing Store to be held this year on December 20 and 21. Neighbourhood party 2016

When:  Saturday September 17th, 10 am to 3 pm.

Where: Ecole des Cavaliers

Who is invited: Open to all

What:

  • Pedal carts
  • DJ
  • Bouncing castles
  • Clowns
  • Face painting
  • Outdoor games
  • Hockey, Soccer, etc
  • Corn roast

Cost: Free for members

Funded by the Rivermead Resident Association & City of Gatineau

Voluntary fundraising target: 2000$

L’École des Cavaliers, our beautiful new school continues to require moneys to enhance the school yard and create a great learning and fun environment for kids to evolve in. This year, the Rivermead Resident’s Association wants to raise as much funds as possible during the neighbourhood party. Cheques and cash will be accepted throughout the festivities which will be donated to the CSPO Foundation for the school’s exclusive use. All donations by cheque should be addressed to the “Fondation de la CSPO” and donators that give 20 dollars or more will receive a tax receipt.

Incidentals

Volunteers required to set up, help with corn roast and dismantle. Contact rivermeadassociation@gmail.com to provide your name if you wish to volunteer.
